|Summer Tennis and AGM at Princes Hill Tennis Club||Wed, 21 Nov 2012 22:15:55|
| Dear PHTC Members and Friends,|
The advent of spring and daylight saving time has seen activity increasing on the courts and players taking advantage of the better weather.
The PHTC Committee met this week to plan events for the coming months for our members and friends.
By the way, Financial Year members should have received their renewal requests in the last couple of months. If you haven't or simply haven't got round to paying, please do so as soon as possible to take part in the Club activities for members only.
Members Only Events:
Annual General Meeting
Notice is hereby given of the Annual General Meeting of the Princes Hill Tennis Club to be held on Sunday 16 December 2012. Attendance will be recorded from 10:30 AM and the meeting will commence at 11:00 AM. A notice and agenda is attached.
I would encourage members, especially new members interested in contributing to the Club, to consider joining the Committee. The Committee is a good team and will be dealing in 2013 with the Melbourne City Council regarding major refurbishments that form part of the approved Master Plan for Princes Park. It will be an exciting time to be part of the action on Committee and contribute good ideas and lend a hand.
The Committee decided that the Club Championships will be held this year separate from the AGM. In fact, it was decided to opt for an evening. Therefore, the Championships will take place from 6 PM on Tuesday 11 December 2012. There will be a BBQ provided to sustain competitors and supporters. So for pride or just for fun, why not enter the competition? Our Club Coach Calan McCarthy will be accepting entries, which can be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or made in person on the Championship entry sheets in the Clubrooms.
Events for Members and Friends:
Summer Social Tennis
Over the warmer months the Club will be providing free, one hard court and one en tout cas court for Social Tennis with some of our Coaching Team on hand to help improve your game (or perhaps gamesmanship). We shall also have a free BBQ, with the wafting aromas designed to attract a good crowd and lubricate the social atmosphere. Why not take advantage of this fun opportunity on one of balmy evenings this summer. The first evening will be on Wednesday 5 December from 7 PM onwards.
We hope that as we thaw out from winter that members and friends of the PHTC will enjoy the many pleasures of tennis at the Club.
We look forward to seeing you around the courts.
